Thank you for your interest in the Jim Evans One Umpire At A Time Foundation. Due to the number of inquiries made to our foundation about other scholarship opportunities outside of our foundation, we have posted our real State of Florida incorporation certificate. Along with the certificate, we've posted excerpts from the IRS letter stating our true status as a true 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The Jim Evans One Umpire At A Time Foundation is the ONLY non-profit foundation, which has helped nearly 100 students/umpires attain their goal of attending umpire school, or a form of continuing education for umpiring. Do NOT be fooled by false advertising of other foundations, without receiving real proof of existence... they don't exist. It's unfortunate that others represent themselves as a real foundation with false hopes of providing real funding. We are proud of our program which have helped and touched so many, and will continue to do so.

The Jim Evans One Umpire At A Time Foundation was established in 2007 and is not affiliated with any professional umpire school or program. The Foundation is an independent public charity organization. All donations are tax-deductible under the 501(c)(3) government statute.
Our mission is to provide financial aid to students desiring to attend umpire school, clinics, or any other programs that involve the continuing education of umpiring.
Named in honor of Jim Evans, who, as a distinguished major league umpire and crew chief, and as a dedicated instructor and author, has devoted his life to the craft of umpiring and to the training of both amateur and professional umpires. To each and every student who came under his tutelage, he imparted the message that umpiring -- like life -- requires integrity, vigilance and self-knowledge.

We realize that the cost of attending an umpire school or clinic boils down to financial commitment for many families. These students make great sacrifices in order to pursue their education and we have made considerable efforts to financially support deserving students through a number of scholarship opportunities.
If you're looking to attend umpire school but need financial aid, do not hesitate to apply for financial assistance! We will attempt to meet your financial needs and welcome the opportunity to work with you personally.
Our scholarships are need-based. We are proud to offer scholarships and/or financial aid to students who have the desire to attend umpire school or other continuing education programs involving umpiring. Values of scholarships range from partial to full fees paid to the clinic or umpire school.
The number of scholarships and/or financial aid awarded vary each year and are 100% dependent upon private donations.
